Reference Department

Located on the second floor, the reference desk handles requests for information  from the public. Staff provide ready reference as well as bibliographic instruction. Questions are handled in order of receipt and appointments are recommended for more detailed information needs.


Reference Services

Online Catalog (OPAC)

The staff also provides basic instruction for using the automated card catalog (OPAC) and registers users for the public Internet workstations.


Online Reference

The Library subscribes to several online databases, most of which can be accessed on the Internet outside of the library building. Patrons will need the 14 digit barcode number from their library cards to access these resources.


Public Internet Access

The Library has six (6) computers for public access to the Internet. Patrons will need a library card or a valid picture ID to use the Internet, twice per day for up to ninety (90) minutes.

Reference Collections

Fiction

The Library maintains a diverse fiction collection, which includes current best sellers to classics. New materials are added every month. Some titles are available in paperback format by genre.


Nonfiction

The Library maintains a diverse non-fiction collection appropriate for a Public Library environment. The collection is continually monitored for out-of-date materials and current information is continually added. There are special areas for Biographies, Cookbooks, and Hobbies & Collectibles.


Large Print

The Library’s Large Print collection has both fiction and non-fiction titles. Space is limited, but new titles are added every month.


Audiobooks

The Library’s Audiobook collection has fiction, non-fiction titles and radio programs. Space is limited, but new titles are added every month.


Young Adult / Teen

This collection is geared toward the 13 to 18 year old patrons. Materials are available in fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, manga, and audiobooks.


Magazines

The Library subscribes to a variety of magazines (of all interest types) and several local and national newspapers. Older copies can be checked out by patrons.


Board Games and Puzzles

The Library offers a variety of board and card games as well as puzzles of various sizes. These items are to be checked out from and in to the 2nd Floor only.

Saturday: 10 AM - 4 PM
Sunday: 1 PM - 5 PM
Children's Department Closes 15 minutes early
