SUMMER READING PROGRAM EVENTS

JUNE 17
CHEF BANANAS

MORNING SESSION – 10 AM
AFTERNOON SESSION – 2 PM

Chef Bananas is a true celebrity in the St. Louis entertainment industry, with a reputation for delivering performances that leave kids in a fit of belly laughter and audiences in awe. The Chef Bananas show combines magic, music, comedy, dancing, and mind-bending illusions, with a focus on audience interaction.

JUNE 24
ELLIOT THE ENTERTAINER

MORNING SESSION – 10 AM
AFTERNOON SESSION – 2 PM

Elliot the Entertainer has arrived at your library without any props!  After realizing he left his case at home, he grabbed a cardboard box and started finding replacement items.  Juggling, magic and unicycling will all take place with found objects – showing that we can recycle anything into a second life of use rather than throwing it away.  Elliot creates a whole show with castoffs such as a plunger, a box of Kleenex and home made juggling balls, and your audience is part of the adventure!  Everyone contributes some imagination and improvisation as trash is turned into treasures.

JULY 8
SWORDS AND ROSES

MORNING SESSION – 10 AM
AFTERNOON SESSION – 2 PM

The Captain and the First Mate have a new treasure map that will lead them to “The Greatest Treasure in the World”. In order to find this treasure they enlist their crew’s help to build a ship and find the treasure. Audiences will help the pirate ladies solve the clues on the map to find the treasure, but not before a mutiny breaks out. After all, what’s a pirate show without a few sword fights? Interactive and educational with swashbuckling silliness.

JULY 15
BABALOO MUSIC AND FUN

MORNING SESSION – 10 AM
AFTERNOON SESSION – 2 PM

A Babaloo concert is a riotous and raucous affair, with singing and stomping, dancing and shouting, bean-bag-bopping, bubble-bursting, bucket-beating whatever it takes to get kids rockin’. Babaloo shows are fast-paced, high-energy and very interactive.

JULY 22
DO YOUR PART: RECYCLING & ANDY LAMONT

AFTERNOON SESSION – 2 PM

Andy Lamont is the Super Hero of recycling at Do Your Part Recycling in Benton, IL.  An avid Onewheel rider and founder of the nonprofit DIY recycling center, Andy rides his Onewheel daily to do his part. He’ll educate us on how we can effectively minimize our carbon footprint and make a positive impact on our community.

JULY 29
